miserable start

First week of 2nd sem supposed to be the most relaxing wk for the whole semester.. Yet for me..turned out to be quite a mess…
Wat I hav been doing these days? I m supposed to keep up with lectures n at least revising some of work..but i hav been doing ntg n I doesn’t really paying attention on lectures especially accy 225...things just don’t go into my brain… sigh

Mon night was still in a happy mode, me,wyne,wan ling, poh yee n wei jiet n elun were having fun eating Hell’s pizza at Syn Bar…Its monday, so u can eat all you want pizza for only 12 bucks, that is so worth it!=) There are all sorts of choices available...i feel so So fattening after eating so many slices of Pizzas =S Once in a while..that is the only reason i could comfort myself... =p

We caught elun for surprise for his belated bday celebration! aha...n Yay! v managed to make it a Surprise! hehehe he was so shocked when i brought out the yummy choco mud cake out of no where...hahaha Happy 22nd Elun!

off the wk, I hav been troubled by my passport with my air tickets.. beginning of the wk, i tot of booking my air ticket back home so that I hav no more frust esp in this ever increasing air fare situations..
I m so hapi that MAS has enabled the e-ticket service n now we are allow to select seats when v purchase our tickets online.. I even forwarded 2000 dollar to my credit card, prepared evythg..BUT nvr EVER think of the hassle is my passport expiry date… as my passport gonna expires on Jan 2009, the stupid MAs website don’t allow me to buy a return ticket! That time I was SOooo panic…as I tot if I need to renew my passport now, it will take ages.. when I knew that renew passport via high comm. takes 3 to 4 mths I began so wori..
I talked to my brother asked for help..i even talked to the lady in charge of the passport at high comm… Bro keep asking me to get my passport renew so that I can save more compared to I buy only one way ticket…well, that sounds logic..
In the midst of working out the best way to deal with this problem, I asked high comm. how to do express processing for the renewal of passport as my case is very urgent (well, to me, it is extreme urgent =p!) but u know how m'sia govt works..dont u? the lady told me the only way I want it faster is to send my application to immigration dept in putrajaya by my own as high comm. only send in application evy end of the mth.. well, i was kinda frust…so I tot there are no other options available for me, wat i can do is renew my passport here via hicom...so i began bz doing all photocopies of passport,ic n getting letter of confirmation n even spend 5 bucks to get a 120nzd bank cheque (as in high comm. only accept bank cheque..ok fine with that…*frust frust*)

n I hav to get a prepaid courier bag so that immigration can send me bck my new passport to me in the fastest way… here comes another problem ;S I hav make enquiries major international courier like DHL, Fedex n NZ post, all of them don’t hav this kind of prepaid envelope.. sigh..dunno wat to do at the moment… wonder y I hav been sent to nz where anythg is not accessible…

I contacted my parents at last.. as I was thinking if I send it back to them will be more secured n asked them to renew my passport for me n send it bck to me… well, my dad, super wori type, obviously will be anxious on this method as if passport is lost in the journey then it gonna be big deal... the nex day he went over to immigration to ask for my behalf… n thankfully my bro oso hav suggested me to ask travel agent for buying my tickets as airline website might hav some security precaution measure...

I still rmb that night I m so puzzled, hoping for stg good will happen the nex day…
Ha..i m so relieved the nex day when those travel agent told me they see no problem for my passport expiry date approaching soon…they could help me get the air ticket…that is a really good news! yippie =)Just that u know…agent for sure charged more..i hav no choice with that since there are no other options left for me….as long as I can go home n buy a return ticket, all things will be settled.. I went to quite a few travel agents to quote a price..apparently, there will be some really cheap one which is about 1600 nzd n some are quite costly..
Hmm problem lies on reliability of the agent... probably wat mum said was right...its not goin to worth it to save that few hundred n buy from those air ticket from not so reliable agent…
I hav also get answer from immigration that there is no problem of I m goin home as long as my passport dint expire before the date I go home…
Finally i got my ticket booked today…so hapi that things are settled at the moment…at least I can sleep more blissfully right on...

the las few days

Here comes n here goes…in jz a clip of eyes…bersatu is over…feel kinda sad that frenz hav all went back..i finally hav a few days break b4 the second semester starts…

Time waits for no man… this is inevitably true..

Rain n wind…all cover up welly weather these days… Shivering cold...tends to get lazy…so just wanna stay indoor, watching drama under my duvet..hehehe

Till on Saturday, wyne n Me decided to go out jalan-jalan…hehe v went to The Seoul Hse for Korean food before we went over shopping…Korean food is so filling n yummy!

As we walked on Cuba St. , v met stg interesting…which is the free hug bear along the street…so v decided to gav a hug n take a shoot! the tiger is soooo CUTE!

Sunday…the las day of my mid yr break! We two decided to go hav yummy breakkie at Mr Bun before heading market for groceries..=)

Bersatu update 2

On the 2nd day, min yu helped me take over the liaison officer job… I hav to go Westpac stadium to hav a look again at the venue to hav a further planning for the closing dinner…on the way back, nadiah gav me a lift… n this is the 1st time I ride scooter…quite afraid at the start…but after a while..i found that it was quite fun as long as I don’t lose the balance :p in welly I think u seriously need a helmet coz the wind is too chilly that is hurting… I guess in m’sia, with helmet, u sweat… I wonder when is the nex chance i m on a scooter…hehe
That night v hav a mini gathering with chiann,boon, roger, christine n hui ling at ‘Cha’…so hapi n fun of meeting them again =)

The next day, as usual, around7.15am, I reached Xbase, make sure all of the contingent on bus… 2day was more fun than previous days.. weather is much better, at least no rain but still chilly cold.. things are better managed as all sports are held at only one place --> Welly Indoor Sports at Newtown. Sports of the day were Futsal, volleyball & basketball...Futsal n volley were interesting… probably coz wmso contingent perform well =D haha Futsal is really interesting especially with the guys cheering for the teams respectively! The spirit was really there;) I missed basketball match coz I need to rush to queensgate to get some materials for the dinner décor… that is preety sad as I miss out some cool stunts performed by those cute guys..hahaha XP ok…stop nonsense… i m quite hapi that I managed to get some new ideas after the trip to queensgate $2 shop.. yet, I m tired of taking bus to n fro…till I fall aslp in the bus..thankfully I didn’t miss the bus stop…around evening, rain again…I m tired…but hav promised to take chiann they all to strawberry fare for nicest cake delight! Boon brought along his new frenz from Lincoln..nice knowing all of u , Kim, Raymond,Eugene, Rolland,Royce n Han… all fun to mix around although occasionally teasing me, the only one from welly abt the bersatu mgmt n stuff…well, I try not to mind.. as usual, dessert is good=) under my recommendation, I m sure evy1 has been fascinated by the superb yummy cakes=)

3rd July…the las day for bersatu…the day where closing dinner is held…

As early as 9am, I went down to mckenzis to hav all my décor placed there, then went over to New World to get a fruit basket as a token of appreciation for Dato. Thanks to Wyne & Wan ling who went over to help me with all the décor…there are a few volunteers who went n helped out too…but just a few;S sigh..at least better than none la.. but..things doesn’t turn out to be dat perfect.. the double sided tape dint really work well with the cement pillar as most of the décor that put up keep on falling off…sigh=( I think I m gonna go mad n panic…thanks to nadiah who comforted me a lot n helped me in re-think of the design n stuff again…there are also huge changes in the placement of vip tables n the widening of the so called ‘stage’.. so many things las minute change…so I tried my best to put up all the décor…kinda disappointed that doesn’t really make it the ideal design I want but ah…time was running short n so....many things just forget it…

never undermine all these little decor...the 'gingerbreadman' for table decor...the glitter flowers for the hanging decor & the crew corsage...all done in full commitment!

thanks to my roomie who hav helped me in styling up my hair for dinner!That night dinner was not too bad…although I need to keep on ensuring the vip are ok, i still got the chance to sit down n savour the meal.. 1 thing that went out of ctrl is the serving of ham in the main course to the vips.. all of us was shocked…in fast mode, ask the dining ppl to replace the main dish again... westpac is supposed to be supported by professional service n halal food shud be served but i hav no idea wat is happenng.. v asked farah to claim for discount since this was their fault… even some participants questioned me how this could hav happen n they hav lose trust on the halal-ness of the food…well, no one expect this to happen ok…

Food for the night…lots variety…starters - pumpkin potatoes + beetroot still not too bad.. rice + chicken still ok, but the vege is tasteless yet the nicest is the lamb steak =)
I hav a kinda high expectation on dessert..but wat turn out to be abit sad, the lemon cheesecake tasted bit weird…choco brownies still pretty good=)

although that there are some minor flaws here n there throughout the dinner, but without the commitment n teamwork of ppl as a whole, there will nvr be a success…thanks to evy1 who chip in n make this Bersatu Games a success! I m glad that evy1 has dressed up pretty –ly, elegantly ,handsomely for the night , I hope evy1 has enjoyed themselves~~~

Post Bersatu Games updates

Bersatu Games finally has come to an end.
After so many days of hard work & sleepless nights, I am so so relief that its over. Although bad weather hits Welly these days, but I m glad to meet up with my intec buddies again! I m sure that others also agree that Bersatu games makes ppl mingle around and makes new frenz! hehe

One wk b4 bersatu games, evythg seems to be quite a rush n evy1 seems to emo.. starting with the liaison officer task by doing the contingent tag n settle their accom was quite a lot to do…almost evy night, i m working on how to improve the décor stuff for closing dinner…Thanks to the volunteers who helped out in completing part of the jobs for me n jenny=)

Talking about money, BUdget is another thing that trouble the mgmt team alot...we were quite frust working under budget set up by the finance dept...Personally, i feel that if v wan the best to be presentable to others, we need to work out the very best...anyhow, i hv sacrifice alot by buying those materials to come out with the best design for the decor of the dinner..
On the first day was the Opening ceremony for Bersatu Games. Being the liaison officer, wat v do basically was welcoming the contingent , helping them with checking in accom n bringing them to Welly High Sch, where the opening ceremony was held..thankfully Petsoc, the contingent i in charge with still quite easy to handle;) The ceremony was not too bad…just that the Dato make us so pik chik…jz bcoz of him we hav to do a mock ceremnony JUST for HIM..adoi..well, things were still under ctrl.I guess this yr opening somehow will be better coz of the excellent performance by Arus n Haka…

After the opening , i hav been hearing C-O-M-P-L-A-I-N-T-s.hmm... ppl just love to complain.. evy single thing they could think of..well, I hav been hearing complaints bout bad management of this yr bersatu committee…I guess I hav been fed up with this, seriously so…being part of the team, deeply in my heart, I felt sad n disappointed..probably ppl cant see how much hard work all of us hav commited for the games… Ppl just see the outcome..sigh worse so for liaison officers, v deal with the contingent in the 1st place, so if anythg goes wrong, v r the 1st kena marah…sigh


Many things are beyond expectation…like the weather for the first day of the Games... the WORST weather ever v hav in welly… raining cat n dogs n its so windy…whole day so cold n wet!

no bus and start thinking of taxi but expensive…sigh=(

finally 6.15am, I braved myself out of the hse, with umbrella in my hands & all waterproof jackets.. The wind is too strong till I gv up using the umbrella…I walked as fast as I could, passing the graveyard at kelburn, down to willis street…by the time I m heading Courtney place, I m ady soaking wet! That moment, i hated so much welly weather! n i was kind of freak out taking up the liaison officer job..By the time I reached Xbase, my jeans is so so heavy n wet…I went straight to the washroom to dry up as much as i can...

I went along with the contingent to the sports venue at Hataitai…that morning is such a mess…netball is supposed to be played outdoor, but looking at such weather, I dunno how to tell those participants to play in such slippery court… letting all participants to go into shelter... the liaison officers, which is me, irin & shaza together with kak farah standing in the rain…so cold but still v need to be a good host rite..sigh...cold~~~

badminton court on the other hand is not open too..participants waited so impatiently out of the court, n participants started to growl n complain wat is this yr bersatu committee doing… :S when kak farah told me the court will only open at 10am, I was so shocked…u ask the players reach by 8am but how u gonna tell them u will need to stand under this weather for 2 more hrs…so happen its Sunday, alamak nz ppl will be so lazy to entertain us…luckily sufya managed to get the person in charge a call n it was thankful that the person holding the key waswilling to come in 10 mins time to unlock the door! Wan ling keep texting me that ppl started scolding, so after I got this good news, me n irin went over to the badminton court to inform them…at least v try to comfort them n make their anger tone down..

Even though the netball n badminton court is not very far away, but walking over from 1 place to another took ages!i hated so much to walk pass the hataitai park , even more worst walking under this super cold weather=( imagine u were walking against the wind…feel so irritated when all the wind n raindrops splashing all over the faces…argh! That moment I feel like shouting! worst till, the washroom in the badminton court got no heater...i was shivering like mad tht day.. wat heat me up was only the interesting match that took place! especially the doubles by wan ling & firdaus n kay & justin..woo hoo~ good job guys! i still rmb how anxious me n vivian were, popping up n down follow the shuttlecock...hahaha n how hapi v were jumping up n down when u all won! wmso proud of u=)
