Last Wednesday , the prime minister has lauched the first kedai rakyat 1 Malaysia at Kelana Jaya LRT station. Well lots of people went over to join the meriah-ness. I suppose for the free foods and freebies too.

Two of my neighbours went. One of them went up to get the freebies. The malay lady (lady A) who was distributing told her that “ freebies out of stock”. But soon after, when a malay lady (lady B) went up to get her freebies, surprisingly lady A pass it to the lady B. My neighbor was pissed off, went up and tried to snatch the freebies from lady A’s hand. Not even feeling guilty, instead Lady A stared angrily at my neighbour.

Truly disappointed. Freebies - arent suppose to be free to everybody? 1 Malaysia, what do you think?

After a few years of study abroad, one will think that back to home has always been a bliss. yet i had a bad experience the other day. at the same time feeling rather ashamed for m'sia.

The story goes like this:

I was at the kl central lrt station heading to Times Square. When I was on my way to the monorail station, a 18 yrs old guy (Guy A) approached me and handed me a card-like envelope. So I thought it was some sort of promotional materials or flyer. I grabbed. When I was about to go, that guy asked me to peel open the envelope. so that if the words written in there is a "thank you", i should return to him. Without further ado, I asked him to open it up in front of me. mana tahu, the word "thank you" didnt appear. the word "special gift" appeared.

Then this Guy A faster congratulate me for winning this 'amazing prize'. soon after, he showed me a newspaper ads saying that this prize giveaway is a real thing. When he asked me " Did you come across such newspaper ads before?" i was like " hmm.. i just came back home (obviously where got time flip newspaper rite), so i didnt read newspaper " (its a very stupid idea of being honest here).

obviously he was thinking I'm a good target to cheat. Then came another two of his frens (a guy and a gal) to congratulate me. At that point, i was so blurred and freaked out. I told that gal i dont want the gift and I can give her the gift. She insisted no. Her reply was "miss, look at the rules, friends or families cannot claim on your behalf.." plus the gift has to be collected in 15 mins time. I tried to run away, but failed even how many times i claimed that i m in a rush.

Guy A make a phone call to his boss, saying that i won this 'amazing prize', then the boss asked me to come personally to Taman Desa to collect that prize. in fact, he told me that I could get there in 7 mins. I have no idea where taman desa is. (even though I live in KL for so long). I thought 7 mins should not be too far away from here. so I could run away easily.

Things get complicated. shit happen. the gal waved a taxi for me, asked that guy A to accompany me to Taman Desa. u wont believe that i actually followed that guy into the taxi. so i went. to taman desa. on the way, that guy was telling me all sort of procedures i need to do if i get a car or a tv blah blah blah. I didnt pay attention. was still figuring out how I could get away.

When we get there, the Guy A asked me to pay for the taxi. okay paid 11.50. When I think of it now, I should have run away once i get down the taxi. but still somehow I still can be so obedient and followed that guy up to an office. thankfully not a dodgy area. then came in the boss. He told me that i have to scan that envelope later on in order to reveal the gift that I will receive. It's going to be a car or plasma tv or air ticket for two..He even showed me a few pictures of those who had won the prize to gain my trust. soon after he told me " but...miss, on top of that, you have to pay 5% government tax. just like u go to KFC and u have to pay 5% tax." That guy must think that i'm an idiot or math dummy. a KFC meal the most only cost you less than 100, so the tax will only be few ringgit. I was thinking the prize now at least costs a few 10 thousands, so the tax must be a few thousands? so I asked the boss how much i have to pay when he said 5%. He showed me a table, the total tax that i have to pay is RM7000!

Straight after, i raised my voice. I told the boss i have no money to pay him 7000 and I dont want the gift anymore. at first, he still came out with a polite-tone-reply " miss, you dont have to be so angry, we give you an option to choose.." so then I insisted again I dont want to pay. Then the boss was annoyed. he raised his voice and scolded me of being lan si and walked off. I get even more pissed off. I raised my voice on that guy A "how can your boss talk to me in such a manner? it was so rude! is that how you do your business?". I walked out and slamped the door real hard. damn syiok. I ran out. to me its a victory :)

So i went back to the nearest bus stop. was trying to ask a lady who was waiting at the bus stop for directions. but you know malaysians, we are trained to beware of strangers. so she doesn't really want to bother me. First time in my life, I felt so lost. apparently lost in the jungle of kl. luckily i managed to get hold a taxi 2 mins later. I told the taxi driver " I am willing to pay you for any price as long as you bring me back to times square". So there goes another 12 bucks for the day.

Thankfully i am back in 1 piece. so moral of the story, whenever you are alone, beware of these idiots. what have happened to me might happen to someone else.

Year End Note

Year end is approaching. I believe this year has been my most productive year – why? Write too much, think too much, stress too much, play too little :P Cant believe it’s all over now. On cloud nine is no exception since I don’t have to wake up every morning moodily, struggle on my assignment; and wake up middle of the night or lose my appetite thinking of my endless coursework and deadlines. Those days were miserable…grrr

Time really flies! When I come to think of it, it seems to me that y’day was just my orientation week and now I am done with my Hons. Walking down this journey has never been easy. Yet I am thankful for all the learning opportunities. I actually feel grown-up, a whole lot this year J I can’t say thank you enough to all who helped me along the way and showed me the love, directly or virtually.

First I would love to thank my lecturers and supervisors for all the guidance and encouragement throughout the year. I reckon some gave me really a hard time to cope with, but I believe your intention has always been for my own benefit. To all my ever supporting family and friends, I am glad to have you around. Daddy & mummy were always worried that I will get depress and insane by Hons (so ask me go relax) while brother always asked me to play online games whenever I told him I m stress. Well, they are always lovely J

I shall not deny I own a bunch of awesome friends – those who are always there for my grumpiness and my never ending complaints (about how awful a lecturer can be, how badly I need a break, or how madly I wanted to give up.. etc). To my lovely zi mui across the world who have conveyed their love and encouragement endless-ly, I am truly moved. For those who have make me lovely dinner and desserts to brighten up my days (you know who you are J ), that is so sweet of youuuuu . For those who spare their times to review my thesis, thank you so much, I owe you for this.

Lastly, to someone who is my loyal fan :P, my awesome classmate and my loving buddy, my heartfelt thanks to you for always there to share my joy and sorrow, dry out my tears and pat my shoulder whenever I need it. U never fail to give me a boost, accompany me for meals or coffee or handle my crappy-ness etc etc (as the list goes on :D). I see your hard work and so do you. We have FINALLY make it! We shall never let our disappointment rule it out, after all we have tried, and tested our abilities and we should be proud of what we are today!

Thank you for this once a lifetime experience. Am truly grateful.

R.A.N.D.O.M things can just happen such as:

1) I was in the sunday market, bought 3 oranges. As i was making my payment to the vendor (a young lady), all in a sudden this young lady pop up with a question:

" Are you living in Wellington "

I hesitate for a while "Err...Yes..."

Then she continued.." Do you know any branded shop like LV around here?"

I paused and think " No.."

She was disappointed but then came up with another one " How about Gucci and Channel?"

I answered " Nope as well. We only have Calvin Klein..." (how sad is wellington :P)

ha how random is that young lady.did my face show that I shop branded stuff.. lol

2) One of my lecturers told me this. He received an email from his 2nd year students.

"Hi michael, you mention tutorial in your lecture. What is a Tutorial?" OMG... hahaha

3) Yday, a guy came and rang my house doorbell. I went to open the door.

He asked me " Is this a tutorial room?"

I was perplexed @.@ answered " nopeeeee..." (obviously..)

He can then asked me " What is this place?"

I was like (duh..) " my house! "

As if he just woke up " Ooh! sorry. (paiseh..) do you know where is 72 FT?"

I said no idea.. (in fact, i never know 72 FT exist)

time really flies. especially happy moments :) i m super happy with my break :)) it had been an awesome holiday!! no further complain on that. if i do complain, probably u should come n slap me instead. lol

a new semester starting tomorrow, or should i say my last semester at nz? eee sound so sad .. :(

not very looking forward to it coz not very like it to go back to slog life :P oh well, human are just greedy sometimes... we always demand for more relaxing life :P

what min yu said was right, face it and go through it, not avoid it. about what is the 'it', only a few know what 'it' really is :P anyway, it's true in many cases. and i will hold this spirit for this coming semester.. i hope. constantly. haha

time to get back to some studies. will continue my blogging some other time when i m happy.

My bday was a fairy tale :)

Things were beyond expectations on 22th June. Hohoho firstly, I was so happy since I am done with exams :) then I called for a dinner with my close frens to celebrate my belated bday :) I was in a stress free mode. oso I was so looking forward to wear my lovely red dress – my bday gift which arrived on time before my bday dinner :)

Typically, since it’s going to be my day, I had a pretty well groom up and with the help of my flatmate, I had a pretty pair of lashes on! Weee…*happy happy*

Things were getting weird along the dinner But I did not really dwell further. Kai yen brought Elun’s camera bag without his gigantic DSLR. Elun came in late and was busy text-ing all the time. Along the dinner, Alex began to come out with sarcastic words, directed to Elun most of the time( well, we are so used to alex style of talking, so I didn’t think further whether is that intentionally or not.). Elun began to be pissed off. After elun ‘realise’ his camera is not in the bag, lagi pissed off n blamed kai yen for not checking properly before bringing his bag. That time I felt bit disheartened, part of due to ‘forget-ness’ of bringing the camera, part of due to the ‘chaos’ exist. There seems to be tension in the air and many of them become moody n sad. Hmm weirdd. when I asked yee ping what's wrong with elun, her answer was “maybe elun was scolded by boss today”.. pretty logic reason, so I just accept it w/out questioning further.

After the dinner, Elun went off early. His reason was to look for his camera. Then poh yee also followed him, dashed off quickly without solid reason. Both of them left-in-a-sudden was enough to make me pissed off. They are my since- first- yr buddies and I was thinking “how can they went off just like that..” hmm Alex still continue to make the situation tense by ‘adding salt and vinegar’. Alan also remained silent as if the exam woriness has hit him badly. So the dinner ended up kinda disappointing. I was real sad. thinking that it was not a lucky day afterall. When yee ping dragged me along to New World to get some groceries, even though not in a very-happy-state, I try to conceal my sadness and accompanied her.

On the way, I was thinking probably I should pay a visit to Elun hse to see what is happening to him. I texted him and his reply was discouraging. Albeit my mind was telling me “mayb I should not go and disturb him”, my action proven opposite. I still went to the house.

When I get there, tze hui asked me to head up the stairs coz elun was looking for me. It was pitch-black upstairs. As I made my way up, I began to feel eerie as I am afraid of dark n I wasnt really sure exactly where are the switches.

When I was on my final step,

SURPRISE!

The next moment, I saw a fleet of ppl standing there sang me bday song. OMG OMG OMG!

Puai yee was the one who went absent from my dinner and now she is here to capture my over-surprising face! Gee.. I stood in awe for the amazing décor. OMG Again! Purple n white. This is really so yi-chin-theme :D I gasped for a second when I saw my bday cake which was made up of 3 tiers of cupcakes with purple butterfly attached on each of it and a butter chocolate cake on the top with a purple 2-3 candle on it. it was so so beautiful :)

The most unbelievable thing happened as if I had just walked into a fairy tale. I just realise all of them were acting during the dinner. Their mission of making me extremely sad had succeeded. This very moment reached deep into my heart. I am touched. Speechless. Warm. Blissed. :)) Thank you guys for making this the most beautiful bday gift ever! =)) A big big Thank You to Elun, thanks dear for everything EVERYTHING =)) it is the most awesome bday surprise I ever had in my life :)) I guess u must be disappointed as I didn’t shed my tears, but trust me, u never know how deeply I am touched by all these. I had left my tears to be shed in silence.

Gosh, One thing for sure, by this year end, I am going to leave NZ with a heavy heart.

Life has been roller-coaster for quite a bit.

for the start of 10%, its tough, when it approaching the 20% i'm more used to it, n now i m done for that 25%...

easter break is here! wee :)

although need to work hard during the break, still I have been enjoying myself for catching up my sleep, for treating myself good food n slacking alot too :P

On good friday eve, went to the easter chocolate buffet at Duxton hotel :)

over twenty choco-ish delicacies to choose from...

Had some fun baking upon good friday, although the sponge cake looks tak jadi, but still taste good lah..

then had Hell pizza for dinner with hsemate, yumm yum cajun wedges, squid rings n pizzas! cant believe hell pizza also serves butter chicken on spinach fettuccine!

Had a satisfying lunch at Cha, Ashlee had the crispy chicken rice while i had my pork mince noodles...

then went out with the hons gals for yummylicious ice-cream@ kaffee eis* and M'sian food @ Satay Kampong & watched 3D Alice in the Wonderland :)

ish...The celcom scam.

When I was heading my way to ktm station at kl central, I was approached by a celcom guy. He was holding a Celcom SIM card, handing it to me as I passed through the gate, as predicted, he was going to promote something on celcom. He told me the SIM card is free, ha I thought “oh free stuff, that’s not too bad” so I grabbed it as I go, not even have a second thought that ‘there is no such thing as free lunch’. As I was about to hop on to the escalator, that guy asked me to spare a few minutes to register if I decided to take that SIM card with me. I refused, afraid that my train will arrive anytime soon. Thinking that I cant afford to miss the train ( well u know it took ages for the next ktm to arrive), so I just handed the SIM card back to that guy, telling him that I am in a rush. While he was still trying hard to persuade me to have it, he even told me I can give that SIM card to my siblings. Oh well, I was determined enough, he got me no choice and let me go. I managed to escape. Weee:) When I was down at the platform, I just realised that I still need to wait for another 15 minutes ..ish… I hate waiting train. Then I began to feel bit guilty. I thought I should have help that guy. Hmm… thinking he might need it for hitting his sales target(maybe?..)

I met my friend at mid valley. I told her about that incident. I was really curious—“ why is Celcom being so nice, giving free SIM card..” She gave me a sigh “hngh..i also kena just now”. She faced the same situation, she was also thinking to help them so she agreed to sit down and filled up the form for registration. Soon later she found out that once u register with Celcom, they will automatically change your current hp service provider to celcom!! So basically they are not giving you free number or anything, they just persuade you to register without telling you that your current hp number going to be 'devoted' to celcom! they just snatched those Maxis n Digi customer away. Wooo~! I just realised how daring they could be.. Nasty marketing strategy:(

My friend did escaped since she ran away while halfway she was filling up the form.. at least not kena tipu…

The following week, I met another friend at mid valley. I did not mention anything about the Celcom thingy to my friend, thought its nothing very serious. Unfortunately, when he was on his way back home, he was approached by the Celcom staff. My friend, being nice, did filled up the form completely without realising it was a trap. Only till the next day, he realised that it was a post-paid SIM card and his 012 number no longer belonged to maxis. Only after he went to digi centre to terminate the celcom line and change his 012 number to digi instead. He was charged a day of usage by Celcom even he didn’t use it at all and the existing credit remaining at his previous maxis line all gone!!!

I no longer feel guilty. Well at least they should inform the people beforehand what going to happen next after registration. They can’t just be that way!

BEWARE of what i called the celcom scam vis-à-vis asymmetric information in the market.

How it turn out not to be ..Heee

I drafted this longgg agooo..until today i am back to my writing mode so i continue to write this n wanted to publish this since i m so free rite now...heee :) this gonna be long, so bear with me...

lets rewind back to the pre-peparation for the day of 7 October 2009.

I was in Pascoes, a few times, wanted to get stg for her...The 1st time when I start to hunt for the perfect key pendant, I end up buying another gift for someone else >.<" Then i waited, till the next sales, I bought this key as I fall in love at first sight :) pressie was ready at this stage.

Knowing Harvey Norman hav this great deal from CK that it costs less than 20 cents to print a pic. Thinking that I still have time to do it, i continued with my first planning of her bday card, which is a monthly calendar where i will paste the respective picture to that respective month. well, its stg similar to our typical calendar just full of our pictures.. But due to pile up of las min work, assign n presentation, all that ‘freak up’ my plan.

Fail to do the monthly calendar, I was thinking maybe I can do a yearly calendar instead n put it into the bday card. Stil... time does not permit me to do so. Every time when I wanted to do it, either she stays in the room or she stay up late, later than me till I gv up n go to sleep instead.. aikss

At the eleventh hour, I get pretty pretty stressed up. So I left the bday card job aside & I start my planning on the surprise instead. Hmm...I don’t really got the idea how should i do it, as she didn’t cry for las year surprise when we did the cupcakes for her, so I was pretty sien dy. then we had this mooncake party 1 wk before her bday, at first I was thinking doing a surprise at that time, but don’t feel like it coz I did it for her during intec.

I wanted to bake a cake for her. To make all this really surprise, I try to keep the thought to myself as much as possible and will only inform the gang in the las minute, which is one night before her bday. I shall say this method is proven to be effective =) as no one will reveal it accidentally before hand.. ha

I wanted to do a surprise on Tuesday, which is one night before her bday, but she knew that I am working on Tuesday, so not to make her suspicious, I decided to make a so called camouflage celebration on tues night. I bought a mini cake from the chocolate cake comapny n cute candles from new world n I work as usual til late on tues..

It was not really a surprise as I think she has predicted by 12 o clock I will surely present her stg. I was sleepy but i waited..Til the clock strike 12, I went to the toilet with the cake out of the room, after I lit the candles, as I wanted to walk into the room, one of my Vietnamese hsemate went to knock on the door to wish her happy bday. Damn it. I am not supposed to be seen by her so I ran away to the kitchen to hide.

After awhile, then only I went into the room with the cake. She was so happy by then. I told her I don’t really got the time to do a lot of stuff, so I just bought a mini cake. She thought that her bday celebration must be over. Yeah, so *evil wink* I am happy. I know my plan will succeed.kekeke =D

She was called upon to work for whole day on wed. (part of it is becoz' i made a deal with my boss, the other of it is becoz she wants to work on her bday) n so I felt pretty secured that I will have enough time to do the preparation. Heheehe:) straight after lectures, I went to new world to grab the ingredients for the choco brownie n truffles, then to the party shop to get some pretty cool 21st bday balloons. Then went to wan ling hse to borrow the right baking tray from Bebeh, then head to the café to get the balloon pump from my boss,Gino. Phew~! hav to do it damn secretly n quick since afraid wyne might appear anytime anywhere around there.

Thanks to Gino who has been very cooperatve since he promised to let wyne go anytime I m ready. So its pretty a good deal. Once all done, i met up with poh yee in uni and bck to home to start our baking.

Willis later came up to help with the balloons followed by joseph, ting fang, ck n candy. Thanks to them that we managed to messy the room with colourful balloons n ribbons.

Everything gets pretty ready on time except alex. We were hiding in the room while waiting for wyne. It was around 6pm. I was getting worry as alex has not arrived yet while wyne will be walking bck from work by now. So we got no choice but to call up alex, asked him to stop walking wherever he was right now. Poor thing..but to ensure the plan will not be ruined, we got to do so..Hee sorry alex XD

Wyne was taking a longer time that it supposed to be to get back home. So we were all gan cheong and getting hot since we were in dark. i was thinking.."gosh, I got no plan B! what if she didnt appear?..". All of us later started to think of alternatives plans while Candy was still peeping through the windows at all time. she must be thinking why this za bo can take so long to walk bck home. Evytime we heard some noice, we went excited but when we found out that its not wyne, we were frust again..hahaha

Tick..tick...tock...tock... hmmm time was getting slower when we started to wait , wait n wait....At last the bday gal finally approached. so all get set to go. Ck was holding the camera to capture the moment of astonishing face while joseph was preparing to make all the popping stuff out…hehee willis was holding the cake while i lit the candles..

Once she opened the door, we remained silent, she was standing in the dark, she felt stg but she is not sure. then she came out with “eh….” In a jiffy I went on to click the bday song from my lappy, ck started to shout SURPRISE!! and all of us jumped out from the corner, singing the bday song aloud in front of her.Heee… She was touched needless to say,surprise too!!! Haahhaaa… I feel so happpyyyyy coz oh yeah, we did it!

After so many things happen til i realise its time to update my blog ;p

Oh well, i just realise its ady early July now..

Thinking of it...

I had my bday celebration in the midst of exam mode,

I just finished my exam 2 weeks ago,

n i was sick straight after that.

Although it just common cold, life gets miserable since wellington has the highest case of swine flu while i was having all the flu symptoms. sigh i feel like an idiot when my RA asked all my flatmates to wear mask. i totally can understand those sick patients' feelings now where u will feel damn depressed when evy1 will somehow stay away from u when they see u.

i stil can rmb i went to Student Health the other day for a check-up. When the receptionist told me that the earliest she can put me to a doctor is the nex day. When i told her i must see the doctor immediately, she gave me a list of sickness with 3 different categories (green with least urgent and red being the most urgent) , asked me which category i fall under. I knew that obviously my cold is just minor, so i straight away told her i get flu.

Immediately, she held back, ordered me to wear mask! that is so funny. well, at least i get to see the doctor straight away. he :D

i had a hair cut which i think it only looks pretty on the first day, oh well perhaps the hairdresser had put on some 'magic' on it.. haha

planned to hav a bday bash for elun the other day but it turn out so fail n so funny coz elun came out n open the door...i stil rmb zulong n wyne ran panickly to hide while me n poh yee hav no idea wat to do but can only stand at the spot n say 'hello' to elun when he open the door ...hahaha see how fail we are =p

thankfully i was almost recovered before i headed to south island for my winter break ;) Scenery is far too awesome. Despite the coldness, still it was a wonderful trip. Was having heaps fun especially hanging out with entertaining buddies.

I had a different feeling for this yr bday celebration. probably exam comes after my bday, so didnt really get to feel the happiness i used to hav evy year on my bday. but anyway, i feel LoVed with all the bday wishes, bday hang out n pre-celebration. though many pressie and wishes came late, but i m really thankful with all that =))

despite evy1 busying studying for exam, thanks to my welly buddies who had make their time for my bday early celebration dinner. with evyone dressing up according to the theme of black n red, it was lovely=D

till i realised she paused..so i asked,

till shuey cant control herself n burst into laughter. then only i realise wat is happening! i think i blushed. goodness. so paiseh okie! n i shouted on the phone "tan sze hueyyyyy!!!!!" so loud till i think the nex door can hear me though...

although it was really stupid i know,but i forgive u darling, this definitely will make it memorable for me. XD

when the clock strikes 12, my fellow flatmates walked in my room n sang me bday song. the most funny thing was when neha presented me with 2 packets of milo as my bday pressie. as she works at woolworths, i used to ask her to help me grab milo packets when there is a cheap deal. so she said this gift is so practical. lol oh well, thanks anyway!

nex comes my dearest roomie who walked in the room with a surprise bday cake. pity her as she got no time to buy me a mini cake,so she used the cake she bought for herself the other day to make it as a surprise cake for me..hehe) thanks darling! although i didnt eat the cake, but stil i blow the candles ..lol my love to her for accompanying me for the whole day on my bday ( ^o^)

my sincere thanks to those who hang out on my day. although it was just simple hang out n dining,it's simply wonderful :)

my fav time of the day will be the dessert time at Strawberry Fare =D although we feel that the portion had shrank, but still i had a great time savouring my yummy chocolate brownieee =)))

well, i m officially employed at my uni cafe..

initially, i was really happy coz its sort of the job i wanted n its quite convenient for me since its just walking distance from where i stay..

the 1st day was not too bad. evythg seems so fresh n evy1 will treat u nicely. u can be as stupid as u want n the boss will not scold u either;p

wat i got to do is basically serving customer with all the hot foods. chips n wedges especially, i just cant stop frying those stuff...demand too high! lol it wasnt hard to serve customer of course, wat u need to do is serve what they want n smile :) but i nvr think of the heat can be that damaging which resulted a lasting effect on my hand now. as a result of constantly dealing with hot stuff, my right hand was burned. quite badly i will say. n i know that this is goin to leave an ugly scar on my hand for at least a year =(

on the 2nd day, i was still quite semangat actually even with my ugly scar on. that day i hav taken all the safety precautions, plaster la n glove la...all sort to ensure my hand get less burning. i hav been the sandwich gal for the morning :) preparing all diff ingredients seems to b easy, but dealing with frying eggs n bacon require some skills though. on the scale of 10, i will say that i just score 5 out of 10 mayb? lol at least i make sure all those are fully cooked but might not be presentable..haha i pity those that bought the sandwiches for the day ;p cutting sandwiches was quite challenging too. till 2day, i reckon i m still not that skillful on that, u got to be gentle to make sure the bread is not flat-crushed as well be fast enough to slice up the bread accurately.

the day seems manageable to me. till i met this idiot in the cafe that makes my life gone wild a lil while. this guy tot he knows me well enough even though he just know me for....just 2 days.. well, the 1st ques he ask me relate to bf. well, i just answer him like wat i normal to do n it goes on.. just like normal chat as he mention bout his gf was not at nz at the moment, so he told me he is single atm. well, i didnt feel anythg wrong but sooner he was asking me all sort of weird question as in trying to prove that i m those playgal kind. i just ignored him, thinking that there was no point of explaining too much to such a nasty guy. till he sudden pop up in a question that relates to sex... n the question was "when is the las time u having sex with a guy?" wat do u think u will answer? i was shocked, obviously n i was really annoyed. n he goes like ntg happen n told me i can choose not to answer. wth.

shocking huh. the moral of the story is nvr judge a book by its cover. although i know its not goin to worth it if i get mad with this guy. but its too overwhelming i reckon. in fact he is a m'sian. ha memalukan saje. such lust-minded people. just idiot really. i could not just stop scolding.

i got to hang in there. n i hope i can be as strong as I used to be.

the third day, thank goodness i didnt meet this guy. yet i got to learn how to operate the cash register n the eftpos machine, soon-to-be a cashier gal ;p u might think that its just few buttons to press, but when u work on it, the machine will just get bit out of ur way. sigh. i got an hr training at uni stop to let me get a feel of how is it. i was just like a clown. especially when it comes to cigarette, i hav no idea wat is wat n i ask the customer to point me out. there is 1 lady wants dunhill red n i tot its red packaging some sort. so i hunted for stg red. but its actually a white packaging written red = ="

using the cash register was not really a fun thing. i wonder sometimes how could i get to press stg wrong n it could end up 3 goodies sum up to a total of $29. omg rite. thankfully i still got some common sense n i knew i got to manually count it once more. probably i was too stress up in dealing with money, i knew it hav to be 100% accurate. n there is this guy paid me 10 bucks for a $2.30 item. obviously i hav to gv him $7.70 change. but when i wanted to hand him the change, i withdrew my hand, counting once again b4 i passed him the cash. he gav me that one kind look n i know i m foolish.

gosh, i need to grasp some air out of pressure.

i got to gambateh for the coming week :)

The 1st week has just ended with a nod.
It was not that bad nor it wasnt that good.

Being a senior now sounds bit strange to me ;p
u know what..the 1st day i arrived, i was approached by a group of juniors, i dunno does that relate to my highlighted hair, i got a number of weird reactions:
i tot u r a korean? oh u look cute, u from malaysia? n more extreme ones gosh, u r a chinese? I tot u r malay? lol well, i m quite used to it ady since bck home, even the sales person at a shop will ask me "r u a pure chinese , or mixed? " haha

Well, i m stil adapting on third yr lifestyle, the style of study seems to gear more towards self-study ..
More self-discipline now instead but at the same time more procrastination might happen ;p
I wonder whether m i taking the right choice of only enrolling 4 subjects for this whole yr...
Probably las yr was too phobia for me, so i guess i will not want to bother too much on studies this yr. I wanted to try out some different stuff this yr..

I know i hav alwiz been stubborn, I know I will go for it if i wanted stg. that is why I took malay study during my intec life. It was kinda odd decision but i just go for it.

I was happy that I get to go bck to my tango n salsa class this yr. finally i got a free slot for the classes:) It has been alwiz wat i wanted to do since young...dance, dance as in nobody cares =p

I wish i could get a part time job soon.
I just got bck from student job search just now. was kinda disappointing as the job I want was no longer available n i didnt meet the requirement for the bakery job. I m sad obviously but I m not giving up yet.

my 2 months internship with Pwc jz ended not long ago..
Although my las day the farewell was not that sound, (blame to the peak period for auditors) i was pretty sad that v didnt manage to take a group picture.. but yea..its ok..
i dont think they r goin to read this. i hav a great time. sincerely from my heart, a warmth thank you to all of fellow seniors that make my internship a really fulfilling one..i cherish the friendship along with the sweet memories.

It was a brand new year. n somehow i still feel that i still remain in 2008.
my 2008 has been like a rainbow, full of colours... which painted my life wonderful memories..somehow i wish i could stay in the year of Rat, can I ? ;p

my year 2 was already history .woo~ in just a blink of an eye..like dat..
gosh i m in my year 3 = senior dy! gosh..cant imagine soon i m goin to work soonnn...

cny is coming to an end..sigh..My CNY was great especially with all my relatives around =) so meerrryy ~~ so happy~~ n so many things to eat~~ wahahha n of cos angpows that i received! lol

Been Long i hav been lost in this cyberworld =p
As usual, I m too lazy to bother about updating blog.. even though I hav been working for about 3 weeks dy (gosh...its almost end of the year)...
For those who hav no idea wat i m doing at the moment,
let me provide u with some info =p

I m currently auditing at my client's place, which is IGB at the Gardens, Mid valley.
To me, be part of the IGB team is a lucky thing. For one thing, my seniors at IGB are all pretty gals n so young in age! fortunate to say, they r friendly as well =) since IGB is at MV, it's basically quite convenient for me to travel since i just need to take lrt n free bus over!
Basically IGB is a HUGE corporation which covers almost evythg from mid valley shopping complex, the 3 hotels at MV, the construction & property development etc etc...even the number of dormant companies is ady 39! so u can imagine that there is quite a lot ALOT of audit work need to do..

For the past 3 weeks, i hav been doing quite alot of different things...abit here n there..
Sometimes can be quite boring since they wont let interns to do really significant work...
Mainly my work involves a lot of vouching and reviewing of director's minutes plus alot of minor works like filing, data entry, photostating and shredding paper... I rmb my 1st day of job is all about reviewing minutes, it's much similar to reading an essay n extract important points out of it..sounds easy but i still rmb the 1st day i m cracking my head to understand all sort of terms used in the EXCO meeting. since I hav no idea wat sort of biz that IGB deal with, i m so lost n that will a hard task for me to do! Comparatively, vouching is much more interesting as wat u do is basically look at all those relevant invoices n compare to the figure in the financial statement. vouching payroll is even more interesting! lol

Being an auditor, u hav to be prepared to be scolded by client. in fact, they hate auditors alot since we ask for evy single thing as accountant need to adhere the concept of objectivity where we need to justify all differences that is above threshold.. some client are quite friendly to approach but some...ho no no! not to ask them unless there is no other option for u.. There is one bitchy client where I encountered with : There is a plant on her working desk. When i approached her for queries, so happen my 2 bulky files on my arm accidentally touched (in fact, i dont think it touch...) ONE of the leaves of her 'beloved plant' n she shouted at me : "Dont touch my plant! if not I will tembak u!" = =" ok...i m like so speechless...

well, i reckon i hav learnt quite abit here n there for the past 3 wks... at 1st i tot i could go to the stocktake which is jz around the corner but doesnt seem to get the chance ;( but still, that day i followed my senior to a show me meeting with the Gardens Hotel GM! a golden opportunity i seive..hehe

Shopping wasnt that pleasant for me this time since not many sales is going on. Xmas sales fever is stil not there yet ;p it was a miracle since I purchased only 4 tops - ONLY FOUR! that is very little... I wish i could go again during xmas but internship...argghh *sob*

Eating go wild a little since i hav been eating good food like crazy. Seafood, satay, spore chilly crab, ice-kacang, durian, dim sum, fried carrot cake, char kuay teow, chendol, roti prata...WAH~ i reckon abit wild, so there goes up my weight ;(

I went to The singapore flyer! the world's largest giant observation wheel...standing at 165 metres tall, it's taller than London Eye. It is officially opened early this year n i rmb that there is an article saying that the tickets for the ride of the first 3 nights were sold out far before its official opening. Such awesome attraction, i shall not miss ;p

the huge capsule that can accomodate up to 28 people. In fact, i heard that the price for hiring a capsule is quite a bit. But we were lucky that there was not that many tourists on that day, so my cousin n I managed to hav a ride in one large capsule. Just 2 of us, huge spaces to run around..haha

Very big capsule, far beyond enough for 2 of us... v actually tried to take evy single pic from each angle... >.<

The flyer rotating in clockwise direction where 1 comple rotation takes approximately 30 minutes. I reckon it's much more stable compared to eye of Malaysia since u dont really feel that even when u r at the 'highest peak'..

It offers a broad view of the city centre starting from Marina Centre, singapore F1 pit, the Kallang river till far beyond the straits of Malacca but i cant really perceive the Indonesia island.

There is a compass drawn at the ceiling of each capsule to help user hav a better understanding of the direction of each view. A worthwhile ride =)

I shall off to bed soon. getting abit nervous for my intern tmr. Hope no meeting with weird people again at lrt. That day when i was waiting lrt, a black guy approached me n asked me to be his gf, he even proposed to bring me back to US to meet his parents..can u imagine how WEIRD n CraZy this could be?

this wk is my las wk for fun before my internship starts. My initial plan was to hang out as much as I can for this week but it did not turn out to be that positive. but to my mum, probably this is a good thing. i will say i m too free for now but I m too lazy to write somehow. seriously too lazy. my blog going mouldy and my messy room stil awaiting me to clean up. aiks aiks.

Dear all,
I m back home! for those still having exam, pls dun get jealous=p

Flight on las saturday wasnt that bad...
although my flight was delayed for half an hour, but at least my 25kg luggage went thru =)

on that day itself, I reckon I m 'famous' as my name was paged at the auckland airport for quite a number of times =p
after i hav get my luggage checked in, since i hav 5 hrs more to go, so i went to hav some window shopping instead. Initially, i heard an annoucement calling my name "...paging to Ms Yichin teoh, pls come to gate 38.." can u imagine that I actually ignored the annoucement, thinking that its impossible looking for me n i thought "wow~ there is someone who hav a similar name to me.." hahaha XD so silly....
I guess the annoucement went on quite some time before Shazwan text me that "yichin, do u know they r looking for u?" haha if wasnt Shaz's text, seriously i wont approach the counter.
While waiting in the deaprture hall, again my name was paged 2 times in a row just to double check my manual air ticket by 2 different ladies..as if they tot my ticket is a fake one. aiks, I get abit frustrated n somehow embarassed...

Weather back home is making me crazy... Its So SOOOOOOO HOT!!!! as this yr i was well adapted to welly weather compared to las yr, so when i stepped down to a place where the temperature is doubled, it turn me upside down. I rmb i keep on shouting to my brother, saying "y so hot d ar!!!" even though I hav my bath in cold water, I still feel the heat n my nose get irritated as if i hav had a serious cold.

Yday I went to sunway pyramid after get my passport done... surprisingly, I hav a free taxi ride from taylor to pyramid. do u ever wonder why? hehe I hardly imagined it...but its a fact =p initially i went into the cab, this indian taxi driver shook my hand while saying that " thank you for riding up my taxi". I got bit shocked at a moment, thinking that is this a good guy? along the ride, we hav a short chat. I was kinda reluctant to answer much of the questions when it comes to stranger, wat more to a completely anonymous taxi driver. i found out that taxi driver always interested to know which college students in. I m not really keen to tell ppl that I m studying at overseas, but still I dun wan to lie any n answered him" I m studying at New zealand" (trying to make my answer as short as possible..haha). When he asked me "why i will go to nz since there is no much ppl will make a choice to go there" . ha again so unwilligly, I answered him I got a scholarship to go there, i dont hav a choice. He got so excited when it comes to 'New Zealand' n 'scholarship' these 2 key words. n thanks to these 2 words, I got a FREE ride ;) after that he told me he had a crush for a lady who was studying at nz n they met in a 3 wks trip to Bombay..... I reckoned it has been a wonderful memories to him so when nz is mentioned, he got so excited. Haha

it has been feeling so good even though i m shopping alone. n I just feel like buying evy single thing! feeling so sad for the low exchange rate, my nz dollar could not sufficiently support my shopping expenditure ;p I feel lucky though. when I went to Bread story to get some bread, the lady at the counter gav me a free drink. I feel blessed since i hav been meeting with sweet people on my 1st shopping day =)

I feel sleepy again now. it must be the jet lag that hit me again. can u imagine that I went to bed around 9pm? haha

although hav been craving for this since long ago, but surprisingly I wasnt that excited compared to las yr...i m stil finding reason for justifying this..haha...izit mayb this is the 2nd yr? or izit bcoz my parents wont be around so i m not that hapi? aha...hmm...

wateva it is...i seriously looking forward for a long break!!!! i mean it A LLLOOONNGGGGG one! =p this yr hav been a really long yr to me, even though there are sweet n sour moments, i m glad wat i hav been went thru this yr long coz all these hav make a difference in me...i reckon this is a good thing =)

Since the day I finished my 2nd yr's las paper, I m blessed dat i hav a great time spending my hols;) I will update all those post-exam-events soon...at the mean time, HappY holiday everyone! To those who are still in the midst of exam wk, Good Luck!!!

I reckon I m well behaved today. So i granted myself a blog entry =p

Just some wonderful knowledge about "the UsaGe of Perfume" that I will like to share...it might be handy in a way. Happy reading!

1.To store perfume so it will last, do not store perfumes in the fridge

To store perfume so it will last, do not store perfumes in the fridge as the humidity and temperature can cause unhappy changes in the chemistry

2. To store perfume so it will last, do not keep fine fragrances in the bathroom

To store perfume so it will last, do not keep fine fragrances in the bathroom, as the heat and humidity will hasten the breakdown of the chemicals.

3. To store perfume so it will last, keep it away from heat and light

A dark closet, a seldom-opened deep dresser drawer, or a covered box will work well. Exposure to light is a sure way to send your fine fragrances round the twist.

4. Do not spray fragrance into the air and then walk into it

This disperses most of the fragrance into the air and you may end up with it on your face, which will cause breakouts due to the high oil content in the perfume. It is not very effective as far as making the fragrance last.

5. Do not spray fragrance in your hair

It's sometimes believed that this will make the fragrance last longer, but in fact the oils in your scalp can change the fragrance in a way you won't like, and the alcohol in the fragrance can dry your hair

6. Layer the scent of your fragrance to make its presence felt longer

Buy matching accessories to that fragrance (such as aftershave, shower gel, body lotion, deodorant) and apply those before spraying on the fragrance of the same make.

7. Do dab or spray fragrance on areas of your body where the heat will cause the fragrance to slowly release

The "pulse points", i.e., anywhere you can easily feel your pulse, inside of wrists , inside of elbows, base of the throat, temples, behind the ears, behind the knees, ankles, breast cleavage or the middle of the chest, above the heart

8. Do not spray fragrance directly on your clothes

Fragrance is designed to be on skin, not fabric, it may quickly turn into a smell you don't want around you as it reacts with the fabric.

9. To store perfume so it will last, avoid direct exposure to air

Splash or pour bottles, which expose the fragrance to air every time they are opened, cause problems, so consider decanting perfume into a smaller atomizer for regular use.

Sometimes i just hate reading blogs coz i came across some of things that I dont wish to see or read...
end up it will affect me for the whole day since i will be thinking n thinking of it...
that make me frust for awhile..
no blaming on others, just my itchy hand who did the 'evil act' ;p

there r so many things in my head ...
labour day sales is so tempting...
while AIS is so boring n complexing...
I just feel like packing my bag, enjoying my hols, watching movies, sleeping, shopping, hanging out...
i just DUN FeEL like studying...;(

I was reading Kenny sia's blog n the most recent post is about opening a small padlock using paper clip. this some sort provoke my interest.*grins*. so after viewing the video, i oso try to do the same thing but FAIL. how sad. my paper clip cant go into my mini lock, when i try to use my hair clip instead, it almost broke.so i decided to stop wasting my time n return to my study instead.

after reading for awhile(just for awhile=p), then i go out of ctrl again, went to regina's blog instead. i came across her recent post about her poor purchase from ebay. Hmm..another thing pop up in my mind again, ebay! i hav not been to ebay for quite sometimes so i decided to hav a look wat are the latest products out there...surfing, clicking, looking...there r alot of stuff i wanted! i wish i could hav the money to purchase all dat i wan. haha =p end up i placed a bid on a cute mp3 player at trade me...hahahaXD spending money on unnecessary stuff. oh! i know i m hopeless. someone pls spank me..

ProGram Integrasi @ AKL

Diary for my short trip to Auckland.

I felt fortunate to be chosen to attend this Program Integrasi & Perpaduan Nasional wks ago;) I nvr think of it since I m not top 5 committee in wmso nor even top scorer for academic ;p I rmb when Aio text me that day n asked me to call aunty, I froze for a moment. Thankfully it was a good news =) I wasnt really keen to join at 1st, since I will be having a heart-breaking Audit & Tax test on fri n i wanted my break for the wkend before my torturing study wk starts. But looking at this golden opportunity n since the whole journey is free, i decided not to miss it which means i hav to sacrifice my wkend. aha..

The program began on fri night. Since I will be having test on fri evening, it was really sweet for aunty to arrange me an early flight on sat morning. Thankfully i m not on my own, since wyne accompany me along, I felt much more secured. I bet she was really hapi this time as she replaced elun for taking part in this programme, how lucky ;)

So there I am , at the domestic airport, before boarding the plane;)

My light bfast on the plane : cassava crisps n coffee ;)

8pm sharp. arrived at Auckland. I was really lost that time since I hav no idea at all who gonna pick me up n where i shall heading to. In my mind, I thought there will be someone waiting for me,at least someone who hav a name plate with my name on it. haha ..ok, maybe i m thinking too much, i m not vip watsoever. I approached the shuttle driver, thinking that maybe they will hav some sort of idea, but end up the driver laughed at us, since v hav no idea where we wanna go n we dunno what name the shuttle is booked under...we were standing in the rain, dunno wat to do. wat a mess. such stupid. I wanted help so much,hoping someone could tell me wat i should do..thankfully not long after, Aio managed to reach Aunty for me.

Shuttle dropped us off at YHA bckpackers. Aunty asked us to check in before walking us to the place where the program was held.

So there I was, at Auckland YHA bckpackers;)

While we were waiting for aunty, we realised that evy street name was just right under our feet. cool huh?without realising it, u will still search frantically for the street name plate...XD

Since its almost tea break, aunty brought us to our so called canteen or dining venue. Our program was held inside the faculty of engineering but we hav to walk to the opposite road to the quad for our meal.

During tea break, I recognised many familiar faces. hee;) most of them I know them via Bersatu Game. It has been so nice to meet them again! especially Que n Hanaa, we are the ex Intec-ians! :D

This was around the uni area,i think akl uni has better building than welly;p sound so pro-akl rite now..haha

Bck to program! We were divided into groups of 8 to discuss about the current Malaysia Issues. Since they hav divided their groups prior to our arrival, I hav no idea which group I will be n wat discussion hav been goin on so far. Finally I was in the same group with mainly ppl I know, Aio,Que, Sheng & Hazwan while wyne was in the same group with Hanaa, Iqa & Amir.

It sounds abit like BTN really since we get to eat after each session. the difference is we dont hav to sit for exams like Btn & I was surprised to find out that it was a matured discussion among us.

So I was in this Durian Paua Group! ha..i wonder y they actually put durian n paua together...some group hav really cute names like underdog aka iylia group, Joey's aka jo's group, Rentap,pengoncang dunia aka Iqa's group.

After discussion, each group hav to come out with 3 main current hot issues at Malaysia. As my group has mainly discussed most of it earlier of the day, by the time i sit down, I was finding it quite difficult to grasp what they hav discussed up to. U know i felt so stupid-ish somehow since i m so ignorant of some of the issues. I just know wat is happening to M'sia generally, but when it comes to detailed info, i need help though. my bad,i dun really read newspaper :(

Especially on the area of politics, I was surprised to find out that my group mates hav come out with lots of thoughts. woo~ Bravo peeps! so memalukan since i dun really hav much idea on politics. In fact, its too sensitive n i dun really care. But thank goodness, I hav abit knowledge about the economic issue like re-peg RM & removal of 30% quota. my dad should be happy to hear that since he is the one who encourage me to take commerce stream when i was in form 4. When it comes to Social issues like Rempit, Ah Beng & Ah lian & the lack of unity among younger generation, i believe evy1 has a word for that. Looking further, it was really sad to say that there r actually alot AlOt ALOT of Issues happening in M'sia which need to be addressed further. Quite scary though.

When it comes to presentation, my group proudly present our excellent presenter, dream- to- be-politician, Mr. Sheng. Well done Sheng!=)) I dint know u can present so well especially in such sensitive area like Politics. Salute salute! ;) Que & I were really concerned whether wat v has discuss on these especially on politics will interfere the ISA. Somehow that held me back, but it was really good that Prof. grant us permission to express all our thoughts honestly. not too bad it seems. Sounds like M'sia govt is acting good here;)

Proud to say, each group has its own good speaker. How amazing student can talk about issues happening in 1980s, 1990s, the internal UMNO issues, comments on who will be the next prime minister. they sound so politician really.. Raja from Christchurch,being one of the good speakers, i respect him since he is so good at all this. I wondered how much research he has done.

Via this program, I was really impressed by all the speakers. Proud to say, Jo was one of them:)
I can stil rmb some line of words from her, it sounded stg like this:
"M'sia mcm tak ade identiti sendiri, Jepun maju, kita ikut, Germany hebat, kita pula ikut Germany.. kita ni dapat madu dari sepah, kita ambil sepah baru sedangkan sepah sendiri masih baik lagi.." commenting on the attitude of Malaysia govt. which dont hav its own mentality.

While the Rentap group was saying about budaya & bahtera. "kita ada budaya unik kita sendiri sedangkan kita tidak bahterakan". this was related to all the campaign held throughout m'sia such as Tak nak, Belilah barang buatan M'sia, all these campaign doesnt seem effective. why? bcoz they just happen to be hangat-hangat tahi ayam for just a while, the life span was about 3 mths max. where after that evy1 tend to 4gt wat is happening. I m sure evy1 agree with this depiction, the undeniable fact about m'sia campaign.

Regarding the Slogan like M'sia Boleh, I truly agree with Wei Hong, he mentioned that "Tak guna kita sendiri je tahu cakap 'M'sia Boleh', kita nak org luar kata 'Msia Boleh' sebab kita Boleh!"

One of the issue was targeted on the current education system. It was one of the main concern as we think that our edu system has placed too much emphasis on academic excellence where in evy student perception, getting as many A's is the ultimate goal for success. Very little emphasis is placed on co-curriculum activities. Looking at us, the product of this system, our skill of memorising may achieve 99% score but our understanding n critical thinking might be just as low as 1%? I rmb as long as I could hafal the whole sejarah book, I got an A for my SPM. u ask me whether i understand evythg, i will shake my head. When compared to the kiwi's, i am impressed when they r such creative thinkers & they r bold enough when it comes to expressing ideas even in such large lecture. Cant we, M'sian be like them too?

After a hot debating goin on, we were given a chance to attend the Raya Open hse organised by Auckland student in one of big hall, Fale Pasifika complex in the city campus.;)

Outside the hall....the hall was quite unique in its own way. It was timber made with a big round roof 'hat' . the exterior looks stg like a mosque stg like a stadium;)

Even though the complex is spacious, but still it cant really accomodate evy single one. maybe there r too many of us ;p I dont get a seat either. This open hse was kinda a grand one, since Dato n all the officers have attended. I still figuring out the hidden meanings behind Dato's words when he mentioned that "....here(auckland) is better than Wellington.." in his opening speech. I felt terasa for a while. Dont we treat him well enough? ish ish...

Menu of the day: rendang kambing, vege salad, nasi beriyani, telur sambal, cabbage with kunyit, curry chic...Spicy hot n sgt sedap oh! we also hav cake, puff, fruit salad n ice cream as dessert;)

Of coz not to miss out, we met up with our cinderella Sarah;) when I text her that I m at Akl, I believe she got so surprise. Anyway,thanks darling for meeting up even though u r bz with assignments!

After dinner & once I met with Sarah, We decided to go for jalan-jalan instead;)

We passed by this beautiful campus. People, this is SchOOL of BuSiNess at UNI of Akl!!! I m so envious. Omg, the whole building was made of glass, full round reflection, very mesmerizing! i wish i could be one of the student here,can I? :p

Even the garden within the campus is pretty too. Sarah, i m jealous! lol

When we passed by Albert Park, the nicest garden at Akl..as usual it is alwiz lived up with colourful n pretty flowers;)

Important thing is this time the flower theme is PurPle. ^.^ purple-ish flower beds!

Since its was wkend, there is not much place we can hang out to. Thankfully my must-go-shop: the $3 Japanese Shop is still open till late evening;D After grabbing some stuff, we went to Mr Whippy. Sarah & Wyne hav yoghurt ice-cream while I got myself a cup of mocha. I think i was overdosed on coffee since its my 3rd cup of coffee for the day.

We could see the Sky Tower not far away. Due to the breast cancer month, the Sky Tower is lit up with Pink colour. Frankly I dint know the sky tower will change its colour according to the event for the month, this is simply so sweet;)

The Sky Tower looked good in pink but i wonder y the colour in my pics looks more like purple-ish. Yay, its my colour! this is why i love Akl so much...=p

We bade goodbye to Sarah around 9pm. This cinderella hav to get back home early to continue her assign =p Since the night is still young + wyne has finally join the 20th club, so Wyne & I decided to hav a casino tour at The Sky Tower;) woohee~ I was really eager! after so many years of waiting. i wanted to hav a look..really....

So after changing off my kebaya n my hurting heels, there we go. As predicted, the security guards requested our passport identification before entering. Obviously, our small size statue make them think that we are still under age. The guard's reaction after viewing wyne's passport was "oh..u just reached the age!" haha. funny.

Well, we are not allowed to take any photographs even at the entrance of the Casinos. I did feel like snapping some pics, but judging that there is CCTV at evy single corner, so i just decided not to take the risk.

Well, it was an experience;) there are fleet of gaming machines, lots of table games which consist of black jack, money wheel, Baccarat n the famous Roulette where v used to watch this in many HK drama series. Somehow we felt abit bored since we hav no idea how the games work, but to some extent, its quite entertaining to see how ppl bet.

On sunday, we hav another discussion goin on entitled "my malaysia". Prof. wan us to think of the characteristic of Malaysia that we dream of. There were so many things jotted down in our wishlist, ranging from good public transport, cleaner public toilet, better edu system, freedom to speak our thoughts, unbiased & stable politic environment, in short a safer n happier place to be:)

Food has been all good.

Akl is such a wonderful food haven, i wonder how much i hav gained from the past 2 days of eating n eating good food. I shall not complain. evy meal is a blessing;)

In the ending speech, Prof. Raduan has sum up all our ideas n thoughts which will be used as a feedback to the policymakers. He was saying that there are 5 inputs for Policymakers, from the alphabet A to F: Assessment of what has happened, determine the Base line (what is the current situation), identify the Components need to be addressed, get the Details, Examine them, get Feedback!

All the facilitators hav also encouraged us to seize evy opportunity we hav. Go n see the world! ;) Stay united. Harmony. Respectful. Trust. Transparency ;)

There is one line from Aunty that I like: " we are the reflection from our past, yet we are the mirror for our future". It was pretty sad though when comes to think of it that this is the las programme held by aunty. But aunty hav been so optimistic;), she ended her speech by saying "Goodbye is just the beginning..." Sometimes i reckon aunty is so good at rephrasing words;)

Truly, I felt honoured to attend this. Thank you aunty;)

I reckon it was really a matured yet inspiring program held. Initially, i thought this program aimed to 'brainwash' us somehow but it turned out to be another way. I hav became much more aware now n it has provoked me to think further what i can help my country. M'sia lah, tanah tumpah darah kita (aunty rose, 2008);p

Somehow, It makes me really think...

I realised I did not really read enough, like wat Sheng said, on average M'sian only read 1page of book annually. Such pathetic statistic. Yea, true, I hav been inspired to read more...more n more..

Malaysia, its time to wake up n address all the issues happening around. Tepuk tangan sebelah tidak akan berbunyi, stay in unity, M'sian! No matter what happen, we are still m'sian, arent we?

I want My Malaysia to be a destination which do not refrain me from goin bck. a place that make me feel peace n secure. a paradise that i feel i belong to. a loving country where i m proud to say "saya lah anak Malaysia".

Raya Celebration Part2

I was supposed to update this long ago...but i was really tied up with all sort of works n finals...finally I hav my 1st paper yday n i grant myself a 2 days break b4 i start study for my nex n las paper..woohoo! 302 was not that tough, but i was kinda disappointed since I knew the answer for my case study but I dont hav the time to finish all that. Well, I know i can do better. I knew I hav to do better since I almost fail my 2nd test. But since its over, ntg much can be done..just hope for the best;) seriously HOPE pls dont make me disappointed again ;p

After having a filling brunch at Stafford, I was invited to another one at Everton Hall..this was for my late lunch n early dinner perhaps;p

There were delicious mihun soup n rendang served, since my stomach not allow me to fit much more so I just tried out the desserts instead ;p there were roti pudding, kek batik, choc ball, choc cakes, yummy cookies, jelly...I feel so Contented. Sweet.FULL! haha

Here comes the 'finale' for the raya OPen Hse, the one held at High Comm. It was really a grand one. this yr Aunty has invited students from Massey n other uni as well... Just the welly students itself hav make the Dewan Raya Packed, now plus with evyone from all over. Wow~ it was really ALot More Packed! hahaha but the more the meriah, that was the spirit isnt it? It makes me think of chinese new year somehow..

Dewan Raya was nicely decorated;) very in raya atmosphere.. since we wanted to accomodate more ppl, so no chair for the day ;)

To share the joy, I choose to wear my baju raya ;) although it was not a new one but it was still good after all this yr. believe it onot...this kurung was from my mum..haha;)

This yr, i brought a bunch of my good buddies along;) I believe they hav enjoy themselves too;)

This yr food was catered from Istana Malaysia. We had nasi beriyani, mee goreng n crispy fried chicken. The chicken taste really good! But i think las yr food lagi best..haha

The preparation of WYne Bday Surprise!

It just happened yday. Me, Kelvin, Ting Fang, Jospeh & Ck hav decided to go to Ck hse for preparation of wyne bday surprise!

At 1st we thought we could start our mission after 3.30pm claz, but we could only access Ck hse after 5pm since his hsemate dont allow any disturbance when he was conducting piano lesson. So, we just went over to Matterhorn Cafe to hav coffee n some chit-chat talk..:)

Mission starts around 6pm.Our mission is to bake 20 cupcakes since its wyne 20th Bday. SO the ingredients goes like this...

the instant mixing powder n icing powder which i bought from new world 2days bck. I brought the baking tray down on fri to ck hse without wyne's notice...wahahhaXD

At Ck hse...we were bz adding, mixing n baking.....

Raya Celebration Part1

I m well fed by this raya festive season. Even though I was not in m'sia, but I totally could feel the Hari Raya heat at welly. I felt so thankful for getting so many Raya Open Hse invitations this yr ;) I feel a sense of guilt since I hav been eating so much these days...gosh gosh...i think i gain...but u know...its once a yr! ahaks;p

*attention: pls bear with me readers, there will be lots Yummy Food Pics posted up,so if u r on diet, i suggest u not to read...haha:P

My 1st Raya Open Hse invi is from Daz. We hav this potluck style dinner at Daz's Sirocco Apt.

so this is my 1st raya meal;p there was pizza, fried rice+ chic (sedap sedap!), curry chic, ketupat plus with some kuih & kek batik...all yummy!

4th Raya Invi was from Ili. I met her randomly on fri when I was at New World and it was so sweet of her for inviting me over. When I arrived at her apt, my stomach cant really fit anymore after so much of eating for the day. So I just tried out the side dishes instead of the main course which consist of soto n ketupat.
There were variety of cookies n kuih muih to choose from...seriously alot..the roti pudding, pandan kek, the banana cake, kek batik n unique choc, butter,peanut cookies to eat! when it comes to dessert, i admit I cant resist, so i did managed to try some! hehehe
thank you so much To ili, Hazel & the gals! I like ur hse with such good view n such big bathroom XD n I love the food for sure!

SprinG Festival

Yay yay! The season of Spring is here again! actually I wasnt that exuberant in spirit but since the weather is so so So sunny during las sunday, so I didnt want to miss out the chance to enjoy the spring as well as the sunshine;) So there we go...Me, WYne, Elun & Kelvin had a joyful tulip tour at the Botanical Garden;)

Along the way, I met Jenny n others.

Evyone seems on the happy mood ;)
Next, let see what is happening in the garden...At one glance, the main garden is live up with the colourful tulips, all fully blossom celebrating the happy spring season!

At one corner, there is this adorable little kid having fun with the water...

We, as grown up kids dun wanna lose out as well;p so we decided to take a pic with the statue too...*grins**

Next, began the tulip snapshot.... our first target were the tulipa red mixed on the right end and salamander mix at the left end of the main garden. The tulipa red mixed was a mixture of red,orange n purple tulips while the salamander mix was a combination of yellow,orange n red Tulippsss. Las yr i personally like this category the most as they were the most colourful n vibrant category of all...but not for this yr.somehow it appeared not that appealing this yr as most of them somehow had withered.

Follow up, my favourite colour ---> THe PurPLe tulips named Bocherrini and the Purple+ BUtterfly-ish Flower....Love it love it!
It was quite awhile where me n wyne keep on snapping pics at this section..keke XD

Then, we decided to have some picnic before we move on.When we were on our way to the bench, we met this little boy with his cool spec on! he was well behaved enough to let us take his photo..lol Still,wyne n kelvin cant resist,wanted to take a photo with him as well. This pic was like a happy family.Do u reckoned it was like papa, mama n a child?! wahahaXD Food time! so there we are...pizza from me, sausages from wyne n sandwiches from kelvin...;)yum yum!

After filling our hunger, v continue our photo session.yeah! this yr the yellow tulips named Lily Schrier looks really beautiful!If I would give out the most beautiful tulip award, I will rank this as number one There is also these redish tulips named Abu Hassan..ahaks! cute name! on the other side, there is this much more orange-ish red tulips named Kees Nellis Not to miss out, we had a snapshot with the mini windmill placed in the middle of the garden and those gals in Holland costumes ;) Next, v moved on to the Pure white Tulips and the Sharp Red Tulips--simply preettieee as well:D
Lots of cute doggiee were on the parade that day too;P there are really small cute one to really Gigantic Black one! We also found this classic musical box some sort at the side of the garden where a cute monkey(supposed to be) doll on the top of it, dancing along with the music.But end up it turn out to be the monkey was replaced by a rabbit doll instead.My preference will still be the the rabbit ;p it is cute, dont u think so? hehehe

its really surprising that 2day i woke up without laziness. i hardly find the spirit to do anythg on wkend,apatah lagi assignment. but 2day i found myself abit weird, woke up quite early, semangat wanted to do MYOB at uni. which is a pretty good thing in a way ;)

1st i pop by kelburn but later found out that kelburn com dun hav MYOB which means i hav to walk to pipitea! Gosh..pipitea...so far away la...despite the strong wind,stil i went...mana tahu..railway lab is close 2day..i tot it was stil early, so i hanged around RH foyer with my sandwiches. So happen met Yusuf n v chatted quite awhile... around 1-ish, i tend to walk back to railway again n it stil not open :( semangat pun tak ade la..wanted to upload n download some stuff from the net but realise i forgot to bring my pendrive along..ok, how silly i am...feel so not worth it since i hav walked so far but i didnt achieve my purpose for 2day..aiks..so i decided to go home since ntg i can do down here. not really got the mood so end up i bought a pair of boots from No.1 shoes ;) wat a day...

1. I ClaiM Myself Purple Fanatic. If possible i wan evythg to be in purple. I hav most of the things in purple colour, ranging from mirror to perfume, even in my pencil case itself, there r ady 4-5 purple pens ;p when u ask me wat flavour of sweet i wan, I will stil pick the purple one 1st. pUrple is my first priority. =p

2. I can R-e-m-e-m-b-e-R frenz's Date of brith pretty well. Ppl see it silly in a way. But to me, i think bday is a day that is unique. A simple act of wishing "happy Birthday" or just a thought of remembering makes ppl happy n lovely in some way. SO i just enjoy in organising bday parties n surprises, I will alwiz make sure that I make an effort to do stg on the special day =D

3. I prefer hot drink rather than cold drink. Somehow ppl feel weird as in youngsters alwiz prefer cold drinks/soft drinks and the old ones will alwiz go for hot drinks like coffee n tea. But I m the opposite where I hav hot drinks for most of the time. even when i go for fast food outlets, i will get myself coffee or tea rather than coke or sprite. When i m sad n down, i really need coffee to lighten up my spirit =)

4. I do not fancy branded stuff. Seriously no. I wont be amazed even though someone trying to show off to me that he/she got the branded stuff from head to toe. I rmb there is a frenz of mine who was trying to show off to me that he got a Rolex Watch. So when he passed by me, he lifted up his hand n shaked for a while, end up when he asked me whether I notice that. My answer was " what is the big deal about that??" I think he was ambushed by that...LOL XD TO me, being beautiful doesnt mean that u hav to put off all branded stuff all around u.

5. I reckoned I hav this 'narcissism - admiring yourself too much' virus...hahaha Yes, I admit i m particular about own appearance, so can stay in front of mirror for quite long~ but not as long as my roomie! ehhehe Bck to when I was about 6 yrs old, I just love my pic in my mum's passport till I tore the pic off when my mum walked away. U know wat? the nex day whole family of me was supposed to go spore ,so basically i 'damaged' the passport. well, end up I kena rotan by my dad! the consequence of too self-obsessive = ="

6. Can be very cerewet sometimes, especially in terms of food. But not till the level that a cousin of mine who take out evy single bean sprout when he eat char kuay teow ;p me still not that bad, but still i dont eat anythg hav to do with raisin, dates, oats or celery....no thanks to pure milk as well, mz hav some flavour with the milk b4 i can drink... But i hav improved alot though after I came to nz ;) In terms of choosing font size when i wanna submit assignment, i oso took super long to decide it, ok that is very cerewet!;p

7. Exam stress make me lose weight. hav been a norm to me. So the best way i could lose my fat will be during exam period since I totally lose my appetite. Too stress out, just cant eat..*grins*

8. I just Love guys wearing black top! dont ask me why. i think guys just look so gorgeous in black!!!hehehe...

Yeah. i went to the ex-wmso-committee dinner at kayu manis on monday. I wasnt really keen to kayu manis but still i went since its a kind of las gathering for the o7/08 committee. It was kind of serious at the start, since aunty rose oso went. i was thinking "oh no" is there stg aunty gonna scold us? ;p well, deep in my heart, i was glad that this dinner was held. it has been emotional somehow but at least the 'accumulated tension' was far beyond us now. it wasnt much more about top committee n us. its about friends now ;)

Good job daz for taking the initiative to organise this dinner. I believed it had achieved the main objective of it. Being appreciated for sure is a good thing.

Well,Let bygones be bygones. I shall not utter about the past. Personally, I felt that the appreciation shall grant towards evy single person. Yes. not only to us but to everyone. V shall not take evy1 for granted ;)

I dint expect I will ever receive this cert from wmso. Ha...Well, i m proud to be. For those comments from the top5 committees, I thank all of u for that. Personally, those comments make me realised that what i hav did throughout this yr is not worthless at all.

No regret i went...to the Sakura Festival at Palmerston North las saturday. It was real amazing when u see such beautiful blossom of SaKuRA!

yes.. the seniors are pissed off. i understand. but those words were truly hurting to me...for once i lost my passion...

aunty once told me my batch lack of commitment. yes, indeed. i felt ashamed n guilt.

Kayu Manis v Wan Ling's bday

Kayu Manis + Buka Puasa + Bday celebration.

All this was held on las wed.

We hav a belated bday celebration for Apo, Haziq n Fred while at the same time hav a surprise bday celebration for Neo Wan Ling!

All of us were really excited since it’s the 1st time to try out the meal at this newly open m’sian restaurant. As they hav this meal set which cost only $12 dollar in relation to this bulan Ramadan, I were so so eager to try it out n frankly I hav a high expectation on it!

But then it end up wasn’t be that way…

Irecalled we had a large bday celebration at satay kajang months ago, where few tables were connected to each other to form a long table just to fit 30 of us ;p

But kayu manis did it in a different way. not only 'squeeze' all us down at the ground floor instead of the first floor (which I get bit disappointed). the owner separated 30 of us into 6 tables.. which seems pretty weird to me as we cant really sit together and hav our meal 2gether..but probably the place is too small to combine all tables together, so v had no choice, jz duduk saje la..

The aunty of ms owner was kind of pissed off that night which make all of us really freaked up. When I handed her the tq letter for sponsoring the las m’sian nite, she gav me tat look which was so so So sombong which make my smily face turn off for a while. fair enough that she get pissed off bcoz all of us didn’t reach on time, but seriously her look was really scary…

Talking about food..hmm..
The $12 set meal was supposed to be 4 main dishes ,2 desserts with complimentary air syrup n dates

At the start, on the table was served murtabak which I cant eat since its beef, roti canai which don’t come with curry kuah, the pedas mihun goreng which is so yummy n dates which I don’t eat n a piece of kuih talam...basically I enjoy eating just the mihun goreng but in a jiffy, its all gone…hehe

Another dessert will be the bubur pulut hitam...this one sedap! Even though its self service, but not much was served.so I don’t dare to take much too. aiks

After starter n dessert, nex up time for serving main course. there are 3 choices, rice with either curry seafood,chicken or daging… u shud see the portion.. gosh… mcm ni how to satisfy our hunger? Especially those serve with beef, just 3 small ketul daging + little vege + little kuah, aha…I bet no one is full.. WE WANT MORE!

then come to time for bday celebration ;) Apo, Haziq N Fred's cakes were served first.

After the singing songs while evy1 was bz eating cake, its time to bring out Wan Ling's cake! While IYnas was litting up the candle, Wan Ling managed to spot it. eleh~ not fun ...she asked me y there was another cake, I gav her such a lame reason & answered " I dunno..(^^)" so here is the cake!

It was so funny la when we brought out the cake while singing the bday song along the way to Wan Ling.
she thought the cake was for someone else. she looked to her left and look bck to the cake again. unbelievable it seems...hehhehe SURPRISE!

Without the big 4 bday cakes, I guess we will not be filling..
Gosh…I think I m gonna killed by kayu manis if they read my blog…hope they don’t ok! frankly I dun feel like goin bck to kayu manis again... probably there are other authentic food that taste real good...who knows...As long we managed to achieve our aim which was to give wan ling a surprise, that is pretty enough satisfactory ;)

I knew its late, still Happy Belated 21st ,WAn Ling! We hope u like the card n the pressie!

Behind the scene -part 3

We hav been counting the days… there is one more day to go! Hoohoo~ las nite, mirah, iynas, ellin and I stayed up late till 4am till we finalise the checklist what job should be done by today.I felt abit sori for getting abit emo las night. probably too stress up n over-wori!

Since v hav been bz working days to daysss, it is so sweet for director to grant us the las shopping this morning! hehe :D I m really hapi. at least in the morning I still got the time to alter my dress n my heels n stil managed to do some las minute shopping for my bag n accessories ;) v hav our las meeting at the afternoon to brief evy1 the detailed programmes of the big day. thankfully mainly evyone came n evy1 is doing their job. Ain & Haziq has been progressing well with the video, Ain n team hav also done with all décor while Shaza was still keeping update with the tentative …basically evy1 is well informed...

Mnite was supposingly to be ended with a sketch followed by a 'wedding ceremony'. But consider that too many potential contoversies might happen, so v decided to cancel it, plus aunty rose tot bulan puasa might starts on Monday, so she asked us that we should tone down our event n make the dinner ends early. Frankly, we felt bit demotivated since we wanted to end the event with something good. I felt sori for Aio who did the script but could not use it, Iynas n Elun hav been excited for trying out costume for the bride n groom, Ain hav also done with the bunga telur, all those apparatus needed hav also been borrowed from hicom.. End up v just decided to end it with the singing of tanggal 31 n jalur gemilang...

Thankfully with the help of Fatinn, Jiejah, Lenon n Iynas, we hav managed to get done with all the boxes wrapping, pressie wrapping, all the printing, the pamphlet for the prize giving... although it seems all those jobs seems preetty easy, but all that was done at 4am in the morning. Just left the vip booklet that will be done by mirah tmr morning...by the time I reached home, took my bath, did my facial mask, it was about 5am in the morning…gosh…I was so exhausted n I need to reach intercon. by 9am tmr.
In my dreamland, I m hoping that evythg will go well tmr …

# the SUndaY#
The day has finally come! I reached intercon around 9-ish..but to my dismay, most of the set up was not wat I expected. The projector became 2 instead of 1 ,well this work for our advantage since we wanted 1 screen at 1st to save cost. podium was fixed on the stage, the stage has not been expanded to 6 blocks, the gift table was not there yet, the av system for connecting the laptop was not set up too. the table arrangement was not in plotted form as I wanted...ah! a mess!

Thankfully the site manager, Sean managed to help me overcome some of the problem. Luckily Fred n team were experienced in dealing with AV system ;) without much help from Videoplus, they managed to move the I.d. box n set up evythg...All preparation was well done before the event starts.

Even though I felt like lodging a complaint to the hotel, however when it comes to the delicious food n the staff honesty of intercontinental hotel, I decided just to provide them a feedback letter instead.

All in all,
I hav learnt a lot throughout the planning n organizing, tons of time n effort hav took me up, but at last it was worth it!

V hav managed to raise the funds for Daffodil Day to $300 which is really unexpected! that outcome managed to leave a good impression for National Bank. that indicates that nex time wmso will be able to get more financial aid fr the National Bank =))

Even though I didn’t get any lucky draw, but still Mirah n I received a box of Lindt chocolate n some chocolate coins from Jack! Hehe;D that makes our day since v love chocolates!

With the compliments from aunty rose, daz n mostly the guests for the night, we as a team was proud to prove to the rest that we can do it! Yay!

The joyous n fun tat v brought up was truly memorable as well!

After a long 'battle' ;p, its time for me to pay back my sleeping debt n back to my normal eating diet! weehee :D

Wat Mnite 08 differ from the past will be...
We did not managed to sell as many tickets like previous yrs, but at least the feel n the spirit was still lived up!

This yr was kind of prize giving based (Farah Mexx’s favourite ;p) instead of performance based, at least we managed to get some freshness to it... I hope ;p

We did not manage to get MAS air ticket for the grand prize lucky draw, but stil the red Ipod is far better than ntg ;)

We dint hav ppl recording video which was pretty sad in a way but we hope that this night will bring lovely memories to all the guests =))

Today hav a jpa briefing at high comm. thankfully it ended quite early. Mirah went over to Western Union to get the sponsor money while I deal with Aunty alone. Get her update n we were really concerned having all invi cards especially to Dato & all sent out no latest by today. When Pn Siti blamed us for not sending out the invi earlier, she will hav to understand that evythg we hav to go through msd 1st, so basically its beyond our ctrl either.

While waiting for aunty, I hav a chat with Aunty Indriani. Hav a so called "funny n yet interesting" conversation. It was like this:

Aunty: U should find one when u r in uni…this is the right time..when u start working, u got almost no time for that….

Aunty: I got a nephew who is also a Malaysian …he is good + bla bla bla….
(I wasn’t paying much attention though…;p)
Me: (laugh ) haha…aunty, wat r u trying to do?
Aunty: If not I can help u find one…

Thank god Aunty Rose called not long after...i hav a narrow escape...hahaha

I have informed aunty about the achievement of cutting off cost of 500, although doesn’t meet aunty expectation but aunty was glad to hear it. What aunty said was right..when we hav put in all our heart to do stg, we will manage to do it. Thinking bck, this is true but I reckon that luck was on my side on that day when dealing with intercon.

I told aunty I still need to come out with 2000 more cash to pay the balance tmr. Aunty sudden pop up with a question” what if u cant come out with tat?” I shook my head, I really have no idea even though I hav been thinking about money evy single day , just the figure varies day to day :S Aunty suggested to me to approach intercon later n give them all the cash I hav with me right now and request for an extension to pay the rest on the following wk. Its logic too when thinking that when u ask for delay payment on the nex day, they will not be very keen n happy. But if v approach them today n hav some good acting skills on, aunty bet that 95 % I will success.

However, that time it was about 5pm, unfortunately, we didn’t manage to get such few thousands cash out of the bank.So aunty plan was not followed. how sad since v dint giv a try. tonight task will be cracking our head to figure out how to come out with that 2000 by tmr noon.

After dance, as usual i went over to Mirah hse again. SInce the planning of m'sian nite,Tekota 37 SR has become my 2nd home ;) I planned to stay overnight since its much more easy for me to work till late night. sadly, that night I wasn’t that efficient, ntg much was done.too tired perhaps? mirah n i kept on doing the calculation n redo budget over n over again..finally v just need 1700 more. thank god that WMSO n UMNO managed to get us funds by tmr morning.

# Friday#
First time I woke up super early, around 7am just becoz i m hungry. so funny. my brain was really conscious but my body was really tired. I cant go bck to bed. I shall not wake evy1 up early in the morning too so i decided to go to kitchen to get stg to drink.. but after searching for a while, i gv up apparently. i tot i can still wait. So i sat in the dining hall beside the heater since I cant access into Mirah room. well enough, I hav a short nap .not long after I woke up again, my hunger overtook me, so I decided I really hav to open up all shelves to look for stg to drink at least. I knew its rude to do dat without permission. but anyhow i decided to inform wan ling later. the nex moment I managed to get myself a cup of milo n watching tv alone...sound bit pathetic..lol
Finally clock strikes at 8.30am! yay! Mirah shud get up! N I will hav access into her room...keke

After bath, ipod reached on time. we then went to meet Shaz to get money…
Nex we waited nana too.
it was so sweet for nana, farah n nonie to be our temporary body guard when we were on our way to intercon.. imagine that…8000 cash with us. there is alwiz a chance of getting robbed! Just right after we settled the bill, we got so relieved. at least no more crunching figures on the head now on. More emphasize needed on the programme.

SInce its lunch time, we decided to go to satay kajang after dat since v hav not had any proper meal long ago.

Get to meet up with kayu manis, took the voucher n pamphlet, then went over to National Bank to get all those prizes n the flag.

Dance practice at 6.30pm, then went over tekota again. Yay! ellin was back from trip too...so i asked her follow me over. we hav domino's pizza for dinner!

there is this illustration i found very interesting when u place ur pizza order at Domino's website. there is a round circle showing on the screen where u will b able to see at what stage the making of ur pizza is. start from preparation, baking till delivery,so CUTE la! since all of us so hungry, we constantly checking on that to see how long more pizza will be ready...*grins*

gosh...i left my blog unattended for quite some time...finally its time for me to keep up the pace since evy1 has been bz updating...

Audit test was straight after the wk of m'sian nite, n i was relieved that my audit presentation was just over too!

life keep on bz..sky keep on crying...i wonder why spring has come n weather still so bad...

continued from my previous blog, i feel like writing stg more than that...

Lets turn the clock back for a little....

# Two wks before MNite 08....

Almost half of the committee went to the south island trip on Tuesday. I wish I get a chance to go out welly as well =( I m jealous in some way but I know I cant leave the job undo…although I believed that most of them gonna catch up with work after they r bck from the trip, but still there were many stuffs to deal with, the sponsors, the invitation cards, the posters, the website...

Mirah n I met up with Jack on tues night to finalise the prizes and certs for the committee awards as well as the daffodil day stuff…Jack kept asking us about the website while we still waiting Fifi to finish it. As long as the website is not done, the promotion will remained hanging…well, sometimes Jack is very hard to deal with as he will come up with "wonderful" ideas that mirah n I find it weird to entertain..wat to do? he is still one of the sponsor...

I was supposed to meet Aunty this wk, but unfortunately Aunty was sick…so evythg hav to be postponed.sigh ;(

on and off..rumours said that there were some people who were having a bet on the success of this event... frankly, that was pretty sad n annoying but i kept telling myself not to bother..
Since Irin was not aroung, Mirah & I were still working hard on finding more sponsors. we were hoping Istana Malaysia, Satay Kajang, Indian Express to give us reply. It was really hard though since many of these sponsors hav been sponsoring for the las Bersatu Games ;( We did called Tolsi but to no avail, however we din't expect Mughlai curry corner will say yes,but the outcome is.....…I dun wish to disclose...(*for further info, pls make enquiries from committee =p lol)

V were surprised that Cinta restaurant sponsored. We failed to get MAS airlines which is pretty sad as evy1 is hoping that.. they actually gv out too many sponsorship this yr n they decided to freeze it on..

Things still manageable in the first week even though we still rushing to finish the poster as soon as we can...thankfully Poster was done on Friday. no time to comment on the layout or so.. just some typo for 51st independence day rather than 57th..

At least I still got the time to do some shopping. I got my shoes on fri at number 1 shoes at a 'very worth it' rate =) as I got it by buying 1 pair get 2nd pair for free. so I got 2 heels for 20 dollar. I m hapi for the day. On Sunday morning went to dim sum with frenz.was stil pretty relaxing at least I still managed to watch the closing ceremony for Olympic ;p

But things getting panic on Sunday night. We are gonna pay the remaining sum to intercon soon. come to think of it, it was about $10,000 including all the food cost n av system. I seriously hav no idea how to fork out such large amount though, although v got a few sponsors on our hand, but mainly v got vouchers instead of cash. v hoping msd n umno could gv moreee~~

# One wk before mNite...

#Monday#
Aunty was back to hicom, so mirah & I decided to meet her as soon as v can. On that morning, we were bz printing the invitation cards. Sad to say v were quite messed up with the printing, got the wrong sides n v need to print the whole thing again.. so end up v met aunty around 2.30pm. we were sorry to bother aunty since she had many things to sort out yet, but v oso muka tebal la, since we know we were running late, we need to get things done as soon as v can. Well, aunty commented mostly on the budget since money is the critical issue now. She told us that our hire cost was too exp, she even showed us most of the proposal submitted by other uni. as u know, evy1 was having their m’sian night or malam merdeka up n it seems that most of them the venue hire fees n waitress charge were all complimentary with the food paid. So mainly we kena bully by this intercon for charging us for almost evy single thing, no any special packages available, not even qualify for the credit facility available. Aunty reckoned that we two are too ignorant, she recommended us to go back to intercon n talk to them, trying to cut cost mainly..

As usual, aunty came out with lots of advices. she said she could sensed our woriness behind our smiling face (which is obviously true…that we two are so panic right now)she came out with a few options though, either

we approach the hotel, deal with it
Or postpone it, change the venue
Or cancel the whole thing

Woo~ the las option sounds bit crazy…we will not want to do that , we know we mz continue with it even though we dunno how..grins

After a long day of hearing to aunty’s advices, we decided to held an urgent meeting with our fellow team mates. It was so sweet of aunty to drop us at Nando so that v could hav dinner. Right after dinner, it was so thoughtful of Mdm director ;p to grab us some snacks for the urgent meeting on that night. At that moment, we needed evy committee ideas to work out what we can do. Thank god that mostly came. after some brainstorming going on, all of us helped out in checking different packages available for all the hotels in wellington (to prepare my back ups for tmr morning) while Marketing team was working hard to persuade ppl to come to the m’sian night. u know we got many lame reasons which we hav expected earlier =(

All committees had also agreed to fork out $50 each to make us pay the remaining balance if we failed our mission tmr.

#Tuesday#
I get so stress up though. I cant even eat. Hav made an appointment with Amy since Robert is on leave. I knew that evy1 had relied on us today. I know that if I failed it, I make evryone sad. I dun wish to bring disappointment but I doubt my ability. At the start, I failed to get any positve answer from Amy. I were so worried that I would not want to walk out the hotel without successfully doing stg out of it. I kept on crapping, at least trying to keep Amy talking while I could hav some time to bash out some good points to make them cut down their price..
Was really thankful that all of a sudden I came out with the point that I try to replace the lambton room 3 into changing room rather than hire another room for it, that will make us save huge cost! I m so hapi that I actually tot of it since we could not really reduce the number of ppl since we hav signed the contract that we will pay a minimum of 180 guests. After the successdul deal, next on, we complained about the waitress cost, its crazy la..1 hr $25 , I think I oso wanna be the waitress for intercon =P Amy finally came out with an option that the hotel could came out with a mini buffet on the vip table(huh... she should hav inform us earlier abt this option) n that needs only 1 waitress which could cut out more cost!
i m proud that in total I managed to discuss n save up around 500 dollar! Even though its far beyond $1000 like aunty expected, but still I think it was a success! I m hapi for the day =) cant wait to tell aunty n the rest of the team …

Met Mr Avninder to hand out the invi, so happen he was in kayu manis, so at the same time we gav Ms owner of kayu manis the invi too. We hav a friendly chat with Uncle rent a car, Aunty kayu manis n the Mr Harvey Norman, all of them are Malaysian born n i just realised they were all good frenz. Mirah n I were really hapi to meet them =) they were really caring n friendly to talk with...

We hav a meet up with Ahmal n Iqmal later on to discuss on promotion issue n work out on how many more tables v need to sell. Yet, I got an email from Amy that she had reduced our tables to 150 guests and our table arrangements had also changed. All in a sudden…oops…15 tables? In that instant we tot v might hav oversell our tickets. come to think of it, it was funny, at first we were all wori that we cant manage to sell all 180 seats but now end up v realised that we only hav 2 more tables to go. yay yay! we felt that we will be going to hit our target much more easier. As illustrated in the new floor plan, there were only 4 blocks set up for the stage. 6 blocks was ady insufficient, now lagi worst, so Mirah n I will need to meet up with Intercon again the nex day to discuss further.

# Wednesday #
Early morning, pop up at Intercon again to discuss further on. I bet Amy was freaking up dealing with us. but...i hav no time for what others think of... Finally, we sent in our las banquet order up, Amy hav oso agreed to add in more blocks for staging n oso set up gift table n the table arrangements make it plotted form instead of too formal type form. We thought of meeting Mr Avninder for coffee at 10am n got the voucher from him, unfortunately, he was out of town that day, so Mirah & I just headed to Wholly Bagel for bfast =) As we have time to be spared plus I realised that I hav not gotten my bag n shawl for the Mnite, so Mirah & I finally decided to go for shopping awhile at Cuba St. We found this shop, Paper Bag princess opposite Satay Kingdom which are full of cheap fashionable clothings. Sad to say, I cant really resist though ;p with all the tops n shoes sold there. luckily, Mirah was very good at controlling me...she will show disapproval when I showed her those pretty cute handbags n tops just becoz all those were not for Mnite use. Pretty sad though..lol

On the other side, Shaza n Iynas started to hunt for affordable pressie for the online poll awards. Thanks to them, we managed to get 4 complimentary tickets from Embassy Theatre! So that adds more varieties to our prizes =) While mirah & I went to Harvey Norman to meet this Malaysian Guy who is also a frenz of Mr Avninder. We thought we will be able to get cheaper Ipod over there. But sadly, we didn’t manage to get any discount either as Harvey Norman was oso selling at zero profit lvl. Instead we thought of purchasing the ipod online, since its about the same price n even comes with free craving. So we headed a quiet café so that we could place our order from the online Apple store. We went into Friendly Bakery at Cuba St. for a coffee, while making a phone call to Apple at the same time waiting to meet up with Mr Avninder. Since time doesn’t allow, we could not manage to get the free craving on ipod, but we managed to get a RED ipod shuffle! when mirah asked me wat colour i want, i said RED! :D red ipod is not available throughout the store at Welly, but there were still stocks at that store =)) So i think it was a good deal.

My dinner was a slice of Tiramisu from Cube at Readings n a cup of milo from Wan Ling ;) Having such dinner ady was such a bless since I hav missed out alot of proper meal these days. We hav a committee meeting again at night. Our aim was to make everyone informed about the programme flow and could start on working on tickets, programmes as well as vip booklets. I reckon that night wasn’t that efficient though, but we managed to get the doorgift n tickets done. Thanks to iynas of being so kind for constantly serving chips, ice creams n wedges. Gosh..can u imagine how fattening it is, I was eating wedges at 3am in the morning ;p

M'sian Night 2008 : A Royal Tribute

Oh internet, when I need you, you broke down…sigh
But that doesn’t stop me to update my blog…
I hav been missing from cyber world almost about a wk..
Since las 2 wks, evy single day the purpose of checking my email was just to get in contact with Jack fr National Bank n Robert from Intercontinental Hotel..
Frankly speaking, I am so so so H-a-p-p-Y that M’sian Night is over. And important thing is it ended with a happy note!

I am glad that evyone has lotsa fun on sun night. Seriously, mirah & I didn’t expect will be that success though... u shud see how hard v work through the break when evy1 is suppose to sleep,eat, enjoy to the max...well, I do not deny that we did complain bit here n there when we are given such responsibility.

As we two share a common characteristic which is to make sure evythg work till perfect, so from evy single tiny mini aspect like the font of the pamphlet or even just colour on the invitation card, we took up lotsa time to finalise it. Aha..well, ppl started to think that v r stupid, but there we are =p

To me, m'sian night was all good. I feel thankful. There are no major glitches that affect the running of the whole programme. Dato arrived on time and surprisingly we managed to end on time too. It’s so exciting to see evyone dress up so royal-ly which suit perfectly to the theme =)

Even though this yr m’sian nite was held in relatively small scale compared to previous yr, for this ppl will start to think that the committee were not that efficient, still I think we hav a mini wonderful Malaysian gathering. Talking about food, thankfully, there were no wrong serving of food, all the food taste good as well. Sadly, I doesn’t got much time to savour all the foods served, when ppl eating dessert, I m having my main course, when ppl having dessert, the event ends. Sounds pathetic rite? but at least, the dessert didn’t turn me down..lol I m sure ppl will agree me that the apricot crumble with vanilla sauce taste so heavenly good which makes u demand for more n more ;))

When it comes to dance, there is only one thing that the dancers will complain- the mini stage! Sorry la for all dancers, I have requested for the maximum 6 blocks of stages.. It was really difficult to dance at such small stage. I know my Chinese dance were abit mess up.. but aha… bravo to all dancers, we hav make a good job in entertaining guests..hehe=)

Video presentations went well too. Sincere thanks to the AV team, Fred, Haziq & Ain who hav did a good job in ensuring that there is no-technical-problem situation exist. As I was such a blur on AV, the AV team had really did a good job in helping out.

I was really thankful to evy single person who hav helped out in making this event a success!

Recognition should be given....

First. To our Mdm Director, AMiraH, =D! From the day we accept the position till the end of the event, there are so many unexpected things that keep giving us heart attacks, the sleepless night, the odds that both of us hav gone through, yay, give me five, we did it! I guess that most happy award shall be granted to we two. ha=)

Two.To the m’sian night committee, bravo to all of u guys, u guys did a good job! To irin who has helped out in dealing with sponsors..to the marketing dudes, iqmal n ahmal who hav trying hard for promotion n ticketing, to the media team, fifi for setting up the websites, Haziq n ain for making all the videos, the experienced Fred who has alwiz ensure how all the av system goes ok.To the protocol officer, Ellin n all the usherers who have helped out in collecting donations or in terms of ushering VIPs, thank you. To Iynas, who has been so hardworking in ironing all the costumes for the dancers as well as ensuring all the dance performances go ok..To the Ms Head operation, Shaza n her assistant, Lenon who hav ensure the flow of programmes went smoothly. Sorry Shaza, I know u miss out the good foods…don’t wori, ur contribution is much appreciated. n to our Mr photographer, Elun who has been taking all the pics for the night…thumb up!

Three. To all the volunteers, the receptionist, guest presenters n so called las minute helpers, thanks for helping out. Thanks Auni for helping in lighting n Nadiah on handling audio n Najwa in calculating the votes. Tq tq! To Farah who has volunteer in helping out the designing of poster n tickets, thanks

Four. To the décor team, Ain, Pok Jat, Kay n Nadirah, gosh the backdrop looks fabulous! Good job guys! very good =)

Five. To the tekota gals, A big hug to all of u! Thanks to Fatinn who has alwiz willing to help out in designing the tickets n the programming books, to Jiejah n Wan Ling n Iynas who has alwiz been so caring of preparing coffee n food for me during the late nights, helping out in wrapping the presents n labels, for sending me home on the middle of the night! U gals are sweeettt!! N thanks for all the encouragement that u all hav gav me through where one word of thank you is far beyond sufficient.

Six. To most of the top committee, Farah, Nana, Daz, Shaz, Nonie n Haz thanks for helping out in getting the funds n sincere thanks in giving all the advices that lead me through in organizing this event.

Congratz to all the winners for lucky draws! Well, its so sad when I wrap most of the presents but I get none bck...so sakit hati la when the ipod jatuh kepada tangan Kay, at least I want a food voucher la! Well, I m so not lucky ;p grins. To all the award recipients, congratz to you too!!! N to Palie & Liz who has been crowned as best dress, u two deserve it, congratz!

Although I didn’t get much time to sit down n enjoy my food n the show (especially during the raja lawak award giving..), but deep in my heart, I am happy when evy1 enjoy the event! Especially to the seniors, we hope that it will bring memorable memories =)
